Breaking Cycles,
Building Futures
in Ghana.
We empower underserved individuals and communities in Ghana through education, skills development, mentorship, humanitarian support, and the promotion of peaceful community relations — creating lasting change from the ground up.
Rooted in Community.
Driven by Purpose.
Spread Care Foundation is a Ghanaian non-profit committed to empowering individuals and communities in Ghana. We work where the need is greatest — addressing limited access to education, economic exclusion, inadequate healthcare, and social marginalisation.
Our work is guided by a belief that lasting change comes from within communities — not imposed from outside. We design programs that respond to real needs, build long-term resilience, and promote the values of inclusion, dignity, and peaceful coexistence.
Our Mission
Support communities through empowerment programs that address immediate needs while building long-term resilience and promoting inclusive development.
Our Vision
A Ghana where every individual — regardless of circumstance — has access to the resources, opportunities, and support to thrive.
Our Approach
Community-centred. Evidence-informed. Collaborative. We design with communities, not for them — grounded in local realities.
Our Reach
Active in Ghana, with a strong presence in underserved communities in Northern Ghana and expanding nationally.
What We Do
Each program area is designed to work together — reinforcing lasting, holistic community transformation.
Education & Learning
We partner with schools and organisations to provide learning materials, run reading clubs, and support students who lack access to basic educational resources. Education is the foundation of every other change we seek.
Mentorship & Career Guidance
We connect young people with experienced mentors — professionals, educators, and community leaders — who provide guidance on education, careers, scholarships, personal development, and navigating life’s challenges.
Skills & Entrepreneurship
We deliver digital literacy, vocational training, and entrepreneurship workshops — equipping individuals with practical skills to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Peace Education & Coexistence
We promote peaceful relations within and between communities through civic education, dialogue facilitation, and awareness programs that strengthen social cohesion, mutual understanding, and non-violent conflict resolution.
Humanitarian Support
When communities face hardship, we respond providing basic aid, medical awareness campaigns, and coordination with local authorities and partner organisations. In 2025 we partnered with the National Youth Authority on a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in Tamale.
WASH, Health & Advocacy
We promote sanitation, hygiene education, and community health through clean-up campaigns, health screenings, and advocacy for the rights of children, girls, persons with disabilities, and other marginalised groups.

Communities That
Live Together,
Grow Together
In Ghana, communities are stronger when people understand, respect, and support one another. Spread Care Foundation is committed to promoting peaceful coexistence as a foundation for all development work.
Community Dialogue
We facilitate structured conversations where community members discuss shared challenges, resolve tensions, and build mutual understanding across ethnic, religious, and social lines.
Peace Education in Schools
We bring civic education and conflict resolution skills into school settings — equipping young people with the tools to engage differences constructively and become agents of peace in their communities.
Social Cohesion & Inclusion
Our community programs actively promote inclusion — ensuring women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalised groups are part of the conversation and the solution.
Awareness & Sensitisation
We run campaigns that build awareness of civic rights, the importance of peaceful elections, child protection, and the value of diversity as a community strength — not a source of conflict.
Our Flagship Programs
Low-cost, high-impact programs designed to run sustainably with a dedicated team — and grow as SCF grows.
Peer Mentorship Network
A structured mentorship program connecting secondary school and university students with experienced mentors — educators, professionals, and community leaders. Mentors guide young people on education, careers, life choices, and personal growth. Delivered through regular in-person and virtual sessions.
Learning Kits Initiative
Providing essential school supplies — exercise books, pens, geometry sets, and basic stationery — to students in underfunded schools in Ghana. A kit costs as little as $5–10 USD. Simple, tangible, and directly impactful. Funded through community giving and diaspora campaigns.
Digital Skills Bootcamp
A 4-week intensive workshop covering digital literacy, internet safety, social media for business, and introductory data skills. Designed for youth and young adults seeking to participate in the digital economy. Curriculum is developed once and reused each cycle — keeping costs minimal.
Girls’ Education Campaign
Annual community sensitisation drives promoting girls’ education, child protection, and gender equality. We engage families, traditional leaders, and schools through assemblies, door-to-door outreach, and partnership with local authorities and civil society organisations.
Community Dialogue for Peace
Facilitated community conversations where residents discuss ethnic relations, local governance, and social cohesion. Sessions are led by trained local facilitators using structured discussion guides. Suitable for communities navigating inter-group tensions or building resilience after conflict.
Community Health Days
Quarterly free health screening events in collaboration with local health facilities and partner organisations. Blood pressure checks, malaria testing, and hygiene education — mobilised through community networks. Our role is coordination, ensuring maximum reach with minimal cost.
Our Team
A dedicated group of Ghanaians — working in the country and internationally — united by a shared commitment to community transformation and human dignity.
Alhassan Tahiru
Founded SCF to bridge rigorous research with grassroots community action. As Executive Director, Alhassan sets the strategic direction of SCF, leads external partnerships and fundraising, and ensures the organisation remains true to its founding mission placing communities at the centre of everything it does.
Mansuur Husein
Manages day-to-day operations, program logistics, and community stakeholder engagement. The operational backbone of SCF’s field activities in Ghana.
Mohammed Bushran
Oversees administrative systems, documentation, and compliance — ensuring SCF operates with transparency, accountability, and integrity.
